In the Kiln they are covered with leaves known as chiron-na. The smoke of the leaves a black shade to the pottery.. The product is then decorated with beautiful cane work. which is woven through the incisions by skilled basketry artists belonging to Tangkhul Maring and Tarao tribes of Manipur.
