Momiji dolls are message dolls which are a form of creative Japanese kokeshi doll. They are designed by award winning manga artist, Joanna Zhou.
Momiji dolls, being Kokeshi, have no arms or legs and are handmade from wood . On the base of the Momiji doll there is a tiny hidey hole. Inside this there is a small card. This small card tells something about the Momiji doll’s likes and has her name and something she likes to say too.
The original Momiji dolls were a set of twelve dolls named The Randoms .There are just a few of the original–or generation one–Randoms. Today The Random has a total of six generations with more on the way. The current Random collection is a set of nine dolls named Dancing Girl, Happy Happy Happy, Funny Girl, Giggles, Coco, Silly Billy, Pixie, Poppet and soul. They come in all kinds of different outfits and attitudes. Each one is different and unique
