Today I just thought that to complementthose several post about Japanese Friendship Dolls (Momiji Doll) it might be be better to explore Japanese etiquette in regards to gift giving.

In Japanese culture the presentation of gifts is a meanifingful ritual. Gifts need not be expensive but at the same should  be of high quality . Chocolates or small cakes are a good choice. There are other items that should be avoided such as white flowers as they are associated with funerals.

Gifts should be wrapped in pastel-coloured paper.  When the present is ready it should be given to the recipient using both hands and similarly when receiving a gift that one is given. In Japanese culture the act of giving is more important than the gift itself.

In terms of  other gift recommendations Momiji Dolls are also ideal due to their size. Something with a closer connection to home such as the Foxford  100% pure wool throws make perfect gifts.

Our team is currently creating videos of the cute Momiji Dolls. This is such an exciting project and hope that this will be a valuable source in letting out  messages of these dolls clear.  Momiji dolls are message dolls and each and every one of the doll has its own message. The main message of all the dolls is to Spread some Love.

Valentines Day doesn’t have to be an expensive event.  Making it special and unique is worth more than any overpriced dozen of roses in my eyes.  I was especially attracted to what I found to be a perfect gift for the love of my life, the person I always call my “Soul Mate”.  What could be more perfect than the Soul Kokeshi Doll? Unique and perfectly matched for someone I truly consider my soul mate!  The “Soul” doll comes with a message that says “Your soul is a good one, I know when it shines in your eyes. I like dexy’s midnight runners.” It’s the perfect message for the person I feel has the deepest, kindest soul.  But what I love even more is that you can personalize each doll with your own message!  Turn the doll upside down and a tiny card is available to complete your message to that special person in your life.  It hit me instantly as the perfect gift for someone I call my soul mate.

The best part is, if you’re not truly that “deep” yet in your relationship, you can find other unique dolls to give the one you care about.  It fits as a gift for both kids and adults and yes, even men!  My guy is going to be getting a “Soul” Kokeshi Doll with a special message that reminds him how very much he touches me to the soul.

I’m thinking of getting my adult kids each one too, as I always get them something small for Valentine’s Day.  I’m thinking of getting a different one for each child as they all have such different personalities!  My twins, although boy/girl, will get the ones that I feel represent their personalities best and my oldest daughter will be surprised with something that matches her style.  I can’t say how happy I am to find something so unique and priced right for this Valentines Day.  I won’t go broke giving a special message to the ones that truly are “the ones I love”.

We are all for traditional collectibles but there is now these modern collectible very pretty dolls which are Japanese inspired and designed by Joana Zhou. These dolls are girlish and make cool collectables. It can be that you are feeling like dancing or just  happy, thinking of that little sister.  You need to take some time and say hello to the world of Momiji Dolls.
