Recently I wrote a post introducing our vintage leather messenger bag collection which are carefully handmade and durable. However there is possibly a few things I did not mention in the post and one of it I will be focusing on in this post is the suitability of these bags for men and women. The colour brown in bags is neutral and in terms of practicality both men and women is suited for carrying your laptop or Macbook Pro around in style. There are compartments in the bag that could be also used to put other personal belongings. For rather an infomal look these bags have also a vintage feel and look and would also be a treasure fro many years to come. Whoever said that leather messenger bags was for nerds and doctors is trully wrong.

The Vintage leather bags are available to buy now exclusively from our shop Lilyhippo.com.

We wanted something of great quality with a traditional and vintage look but at the same time timeless. We finally came up with the vintage leather messenger bags which have been carefully handcrafted. They are not merely a fashion accessory but practical item necessary for when we have more items that can fit into our pocket. An important aspect of the leather vintage bag product range is the straps, which makes it possible to change the bag into a backpack.

Today I just thought that to complementthose several post about Japanese Friendship Dolls (Momiji Doll) it might be be better to explore Japanese etiquette in regards to gift giving.

In Japanese culture the presentation of gifts is a meanifingful ritual. Gifts need not be expensive but at the same should  be of high quality . Chocolates or small cakes are a good choice. There are other items that should be avoided such as white flowers as they are associated with funerals.

Gifts should be wrapped in pastel-coloured paper.  When the present is ready it should be given to the recipient using both hands and similarly when receiving a gift that one is given. In Japanese culture the act of giving is more important than the gift itself.

In terms of  other gift recommendations Momiji Dolls are also ideal due to their size. Something with a closer connection to home such as the Foxford  100% pure wool throws make perfect gifts.

Our team is currently creating videos of the cute Momiji Dolls. This is such an exciting project and hope that this will be a valuable source in letting out  messages of these dolls clear.  Momiji dolls are message dolls and each and every one of the doll has its own message. The main message of all the dolls is to Spread some Love.

An image displaying  the washed mohair. Normally cleaned using natural soaps  and hot water to remove the residue. It is then left to dry using natural air. In this form this wool is ready to be spunned, dyed or for making crafts such as dolls hair. The mohair wool is available in all good wool shops.

Mohair is a fluffy type of wool.  It is very easy to identify on interior furnshings such as rugs, carpets and home throws. Its stripped  from a sheep which is  known as the  Angora Goat normally found in the countryside. They seem to strive in this  open scenic environment with space to breath , away from everything else and as a result they are generally quite calm and friendly.  Mohair from the  Angora is very soft to touch,  has a silk and luxury appearance.  The Mohair wool for throws, scarfs, cardigans and other apparel is normally taken from the younger Angora Goat and that of more durable items such as carperts and rugs stripped away from the more older goats because of their durability. When the hair has been stripped off from the sheep, it is  first washed to remove grease and other dirty. It is then processed into knitting/craft yarn or to make some of the items mentioned above .

Want one of your own Angora then this one below is for sale and it is being advertised through the British Angora Society.

Mohair is made from the silky hair of an angora goat and known to be one of the oldest fibers that are still in use today. Each goat will produce approximately 11 pounds of hair each year. Mohair is lightweight and makes a terrific gift, especially if shipping is required as it is luxurious and the shipping cost is very low. It also is very warm and makes a wonderful addition to any home. Mohair is more costly than wool, make sure the product you are purchasing states 100% mohair; as blending fibers is a common practice among some manufacturers. Cleaning by a respected professional that specializes in Mohair is recommended.
A beautiful wool throw may be dry cleaned, but can also be washed by hand and air dried. Using a machine to wash and dry might cause shrinkage. Wool has natural fire resistant quality, is stronger than steel, absorbs more than 25 percent of it’s weight in moisture before it begins to feel slightly damp and also limits the growth of bacteria; what other fiber provides all these great qualities?. Pure wool is wonderful because it is cool in the warmer months as air easily circulates throughout the fibers and keeps you toasty warm in the colder weather.
